Does anyone know what "Hard" difficulty does, as in precisely?? I mean other than not regenerating at the nearest shrine when you die.

I'm asking because I wanted to try it, but after two hours the frustration level is getting near maxed. But, the game can be kind of hard at the beginning anyway. What I'm unsure of is, will it get a lot easier (as it does on normal difficulty) or does Hard actually more or less "scale" the enemies such that it's going to keep being hard throughout. I'd like to find out now rather than waste any more time if I'm just going to get frustrated and quit.

Normal feels a little "too easy" (at least after awhile) and so far Hard feels a little too much, but, as usual, there is no in-between. Any insights appreciated. I looked on the wiki, but I couldn't find anything.
Dont worry it will get easier, if you know how to improve your hero (even to easy).

Yeah, I kept going and am doing fine now.

Still wondering what changing it does though. I've played through this twice, but the last time was so long ago I've completely forgotten pretty much everything, so it's possible my memory is wrong, but it seems like one thing I've noticed is there are more enemies in places there are enemies. Perhaps it was that way last time, but I don't remember meeting those bandit camps and having SIX or more of them to deal with. It's certainly challenging having three bowmen take pot shots at you while you're dealing with 3 others in your face.

But it's gotten a lot easier as I've progressed (now level 22) and maybe even to the point of being easy again. IIRC from my previous playthroughs, one of the cool things about this game though was that no matter how "good" you got, the game could surprise you with a challenging opponent out of the blue. I recall (I think) being like level 69 or so and still dying a time or two, although most encounters were of the easy variety. Wondering how this plays out on hard since I've not played it on that before. (LOL, at least I don't think I played it on hard before... my memory sucks)

As far as I remember, I had also to deal with more enemies on a harder level. But because of the caps (possible max damage dealt) you still can reach a point where no one can really surprise you anymore.

I remember my char which had two nice battle axes. Each had 3 damage types with 32k damage on each damage type (96k damage at total per hit).
