I recently bought this game for my laptop since I have it on the Xbox and its decent.

On start up I always get a crash, I cannot even get to the main menu.

I tried downloading the PhysX 9.12 Driver, as recommended in previous topics but still no success.

Any error message? Can you give us your computer specs (processor, graphics card, RAM)?

If you haven't yet, you might try installing DirectX 9.0c, which installs alongside DX10 or DX11 and is only used for older games. Find it here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

But usually if that's the problem you get an error message saying something about a missing .dll file. If you're not getting an error message then maybe there's a different problem, but we should be able to figure it out.

You could also try submitting a ticket to GOG support via the Support link at the top of the webpage. They may take a day or two to respond but they're usually pretty good.

There is no error message just crashes on start up, if it helps I also installed Two Worlds 2 and same thing happens.

Its a Dell Latitude Laptop with Windows 7 - Intel Core i7 2.80GHz - 8gb RAM. Not sure about the video card.

Hmm. Not sure, anyone else know?

I would suggest trying the DirectX thing if you haven't already. As for checking your video card, you can probably figure out what you have in Device Manager, or by right-clicking on your desktop and looking for some kind of graphics options on the menu that comes up.

If you have integrated graphics (i.e. graphics on your CPU) then it may not be powerful enough for these games, unfortunately.

I tried downloading that DirectX 9 with no success, I have a Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000. Would that meet the requirements?

It should run, but at low settings:

I forgot that the Two Worlds games also require legacy drivers for PhysX, check this post:

If that's not the solution, then I don't know what the crash is. Anyone else know? Be sure to contact GOG support also.

Thanks, it works now. Turns out the memory on my laptop was also no good, got that repaired on warranty.

So was it the replaced memory that fixed the problem? Just curious. Also it's helpful if others have the same problem and find this thread.

Glad you got it working! Enjoy the game(s)!

Legacy PhysX drivers fixed my problem... I had Win7 before and upgraded to Win10... so updated my vid driver to current win10 version... course it go rid of all my old drivers (including PhysX).
