First of all let me say that it's not my intention to burn this game down or to flame or something like that. I just want to warn people to think twice before purchasing this game and not to have too much expectations. Is it that bad then? Well, no, but it isn't great either. It's somehow lesser then Oblivion, for which this game often is compared with.
Two Worlds has a good story. The introduction of the game is good too.
You start as a male mercenary, which you also can change a bit when you start a new game. Then you find yourself in the Throglin temple and starting to fight some groms.
The scenery is great. Antaloor has many great places and different landscapes (although most is green) The places itself are good and different. And it looks a bit like the middle ages. The gameplay is decent. The controls doesn't work always, but overall they work. Fighting from the horseback is a bit of work and don't work that well, but it can be performed. You can join some factions and you can become a mage, thief, warrior and also a hybrid. You can ride on a horse, which can be usefull because you have to travel alot. Antaloor is huge. There's more loot then you can eat. Talking about loot; i like the idea of the upgrading of your gear. If you have a weapon for example and you come across to the same type of weapon you can stack on it so that the weapon is upgraded. The magic system works good. You can learn from a bunch of schools, like earth, water, fire, air and the forbidden arts of necromancy. The enemies here can be a challenge and some are tough.
There are many sidequests next to the mainquest, which can be performed. The mainquest itself is a bit short.
Despite the landscape, possibilities and quests Two Worlds isn't a great game, because for that it has too many shortcomings.
To begin with; the factions. You can join all of the factions, but other then some reputation increasement and lower prices the faction doesn't offer anything. There are no rewards, no unique things. You're actually just join one, then increase your reputation in the faction so that they start to like you more and that's actually it. Joining a faction doesn't add something, you get no special reward, which is quite disappointing.
The next thing which doesn't work good is the voice acting. It's too fast and doesn't synchronize good with the text. And as someone else mentioned somewhere most NPC's don't move their lips when they talk. It looks like this was quickly done, right before the game should be shipped. Another error in the game is the missing of objects. There is even a whole town which isn't finished. Probably due to the time schedule. So they made it inaccessible, but you still can see the it's walls. It's the dwarven town of Yarmalin all in the North. This town isn't finished. If you try to access it, then you see nothing It's empty.. Same happened with some caves, which are also empty. A serious short coming from the developer. The game doesn't feel like a finished game, but more half finished. Rushed is the good word for it. And i don't think this is repaired with the Epic edition. The skill swimming is a totally waste, as you don't need it. There is one river which you can across, but even if you wear armor that prevents you to swim you can across to the other side as there are some bridges which aren't broken. You only have to travel to Qudinar for it, but after that you can access the other side without swimming.
The game is marked as hack & slash, but the enemies don't spawn anymore. Yeah, at night one time as ghists, but if you have defeated that then it's just done. The idea of resurrecting as ghosts is nice though. It's not a real hack &slash, but also not a real crpg. It's actually somewhere in between.
Overall Two Worlds is an average game. It looks nice and all and it 's fun, but it lacks too many things, which is too bad. If Reality Pump just have took more time to finish things and polish it more it would have a great game to play. They know that themself also.
So it's your deciscion if you mind the faults or not. If you don't mind, then you have a good game. Otherwise you might be disappointed.
