...in that the steed seems to have a mind of its own, and you can't ever get it to do what you want it to do. I'm sure part of the problem is a quarter-second lag that's just enough to make high-speed run-and-slash fighting impossible, but there's also the fact that the camera won't stay behind you, and you never know when your horse will actually do what you tell it to do. It's pretty annoying, and I'm not sure how to keep track of my horse for later just in case I want to go back to that painful exercise.

But... yeah, it's a little too hard to do anything other than run forward in a straight line, and there are trees and walls and cliffs complicating things. :(
Horse? Horse, horse... Wait... Ah! You're talking about this funny looking chest which you can put near a teleporter to store all those things you can't carry? You really tried to sit on its back and ride it? lol

Well... My ingame-stats just told me that I tried this too... For 1.2 km ;)

I guess I could do that... I'm always afraid that it might get stolen or that it will go wandering off, since it's not tied down or anything. But I guess that's silly talk.

It's so hard to carry stuff!

I've had multiple horses simultaneously and none have disappeared. As suggested, park one near a teleporter for easy access. Whistling also seems to work just fine even if you have left several previously-ridden horses all over the place and is a great way of bringing your current meat chest nearer while finishing off the last of the enemies. :D

If you've played Mount and Blade Warband, it's not so bad. :p

40 hours of practice charging at infantry and cutting their heads off with exact precision helps a lot.

But yeah, the horse is weird.
How many people that have horse problems put skill points into horse riding? Not many, I bet

I know this is an old topic. However, does adding points into horse riding really make the horse easier to manage?

I stopped playing Two Worlds 1 because I couldn't stand the horse.

Yes, it does - a lot. The horse will always have it's own mind, because horses do(!) but "taking ridiing lessons" (putting points in the skill) helps enormously.

I always thought one of the best features in TW was the fact for the first time, I had a horse with it's own brain! (I had got used to the horse riding in Elder Scrolls - if you can call that "horse riding"!).

As you put points into horse riding and start being able to "ride better", you will see that TW horse riding is only beaten by the new Witcher 3 horse riding, although I only base that on seeing YT video's!

As a genral point though, it tells you a lot about gamers that they complain about not being able to do something even though they have no points in the skill. It all helps with the continuing "dumbing down of gaming"!

Also TW, being an AA rather than AAA game, got knocked for "cheats" where other games had the same thing called a feature! For example, the staning stones that gave health in TW was called a cheat, a similar thing in System Shock Two and Bioshock were called "story features"!
