For some reason totally beyond my understanding, on May 21st, I suddenly found myself the proud owner of my very own copy of Two Worlds. Now this isn't so strange in and of itself, I and many others have ordered plenty of games from GoG in the past. What makes this situation so strange was the fact that I haven't placed any orders recently. I hadn't even visited the site in about a week or so. Yet for some reason I have a receipt for the game sitting in my inbox, and a shiny virtual box sitting on my nice virtual shelf.
I've sent an email to the support page, but have yet to receive a reply. Now don't think I'm complaining here. I love me some free games. But there's obviously been a mix up here that might need addressing.
Who knows. It's possible some poor kid spent 3 weeks saving up his allowance to buy the game ended up not having it credited to his account, while I have it ready and waiting for me to download after saving up a whole lot of nothing. I don't think I could live with the guilt if that were the case.
But seriously, I would like to know what's going on here. Though the chances are slight, I do have some small worries about credit card mishaps and whatnot, and I'd like to get some answers.

Sure you didn't buy it in a drunken haze?
Whatever the cause of this strange occurrence I doubt they will bother removing the game from your account since it technically costs them nothing to leave you with the extra copy and means they get two happy customers for the price of one. :)

I haven't been more than slightly buzzed for the last few months, so that's doubtful. I could chalk it up to a fugue state, I guess. But if that were the case, you'd think I would've ordered alot more games if I were going through some crazed amnesiac mania episode.
Like I said, I'm not too bothered by it all. I now have a new game I was somewhat interested in to eventually play. I'm just a bit curious as to how I ended up with it.
Is it possible that someone gifted the game to you? A secret admirer? ;)
As flattering (and ripe for potentially creepy and awkward situations) as that'd be, I don't think that's the case. If it were gifted, it probably would've said as much in the email. What I got was the usual "Thanks For Shopping at GoG" receipt/
Hmmm... mysterious...
*plays x files music*
*hopes for farcry to appear on his accounts page soon* :P

You just lucked out, don't worry so much.
System errors happen and this time it happened in your favor, you should be thankful that it didn't happen against you. As users we are expected to complain like hell when something goes wrong, but keep our mouths shut when they go right.
So go enjoy your game. As long as you keep being a loyal supporter of gog, I am sure they won't mind.
FWIW, I just got the game for free as well. Though I *did* win a contest, and I *did* choose it.
Now to get drunk and go ballroom dancing I guess.

It may help you figure out your problem if you double-check the time on the email and your alibi at that hour. :P

Also, if you are worried about paying for it, check your bank/credit card/paypal statement for a charge on that day.
