I thought I'd share this review I just read of the game here which seems to reflect but with more detail, many of the player comments I've seen posted here.

This game seems like a very good deal to me particularly where it is on sale now. I think I am going to pick it up myself. It reminds me somewhat of Morrowind which I loved.
