I purchased the game on Steam years ago, but it never worked and I can't seem to get it to work. It doesn't even launch. No activation key and I don't even have any of the dlc. It just doesn't start up and I can't seem to figure out the reason. I have a nvidia geforce gtx 1070 and Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU so I don't know why it wouldn't start. It seems a lot of other people have the same problem with the game on Steam. While the game is on sale on GOG right now I'd want to know if the GOG version of the game has the same problem or if I just shouldn't bother with it.

I have pretty much the same as you although only a i5 and a Geforce gtx 750 Ti and the game runs fine. I use the offline installers (don't have Galaxy installed) and it works straight from the box. You could give it a go from here especially as GOG have a 30 day no quibble returns policy. Nothing to lose. Good luck.
