So I downloaded Two Worlds Epic Edition and installed it successfully until the end of the install which then gave an error 1327 Invalid D drive, installation canceled.
I would click ok and the GOG installer window would say installation successful. I would launch the game and it would open like its about to start, but then crash back to the desktop saying Two Worlds is not responding, exit?
I have tried to redownload the files and then reinstalled, but it didn't work. I've downloaded directx9 and then reinstalled the game but it didn't work.
I am running Vista with UAC off and I tried running the game in compatibility mode as well as with and without run as administrator.
Please help because I've been wanting to try this game! Hope its not a disappointment!

This issue could be many things, its not your system at least.
From memory this game uses physX which is pretty notorious for causing issues. Reinstalling that often helps.
When a game crashes during startup it usually points to something not initializing or a file missing.
process monitor (google it) may be able to help here, it can be hard to identify the problem though, since two worlds will do a lot while opening (and much of it will be unsuccessful even on a normal opening). Chances are that it will be the last thing it does, since it is probably doing a crash rather than a forced shutdown.

What's your hard drive setup? Are you running more than one hard drive? do you have multiple optical drives, or an emulator like DaemonTools running?
I'm just curious because of that invalid D drive error on install. Do you get that every time you try an install? That error is often the case with poorly written installers when you don't have your c drive as your OS disk. It is also possible when you've changed where Program Files, or My Documents folders live. If you're getting that error every time you're installing, then it is very likely to be the problem.

I used to have my hard drive partitioned and 'My Documents' folder on the small partition with nothing else on it. The main partition had my OS and everything else. Just recently the 'My Documents' partition got full and my comp slowed to a crawl, so I panicked and moved the 'My Docs' over back to the main partition and merged the two partitions back into one.
Would that be a cause of the problem if I did something wrong with the location changes?
Also, I'm trying the Process Monitor method right now, and will be back with the results.

It crashed for me and it seemed pretty obvious that it was because the game needs an advanced video card --one of two specific types even. I feel a bit miffed having bought this game without being advised of this by GOG. Quote

" Minimum system requirements: Windows XP or Windows Vista, 1.8 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM (1 GB recommended), 3D graphics card compatible with DirectX 7 (compatible with DirectX 9 recommended), 2GB HDD, Mouse, Keyboard."

I suppose it was dirt cheap but no good if I cant play it. Should I complain? Anyway warning take care

Same things occured : installation OK, character creation ok, crash after the introduction movie... Nothing new after changing the options.
Definitively not a recommanded game.

I had the same problem. Don't start the game from the desktop icon. I went through the start menu, there are different start options: the normal one, network, safe mode, and Radeon. Starting with the radeon option made everything work. No more opening movie and then crash to desktop.
