Arkose: Not just mules, but also warehouses. ;) I parked a horse in a city, conveniently close to a trader, and put a teleporter stone beside it; I then filled the horse up over time, gradually selling things off to the trader when the horse filled up. If I wanted to I could have even parked another horse there to double the storage. In the early game this was a great way of getting money for buying better equipment (although this is by no means necessary--you will find increasingly better gear throughout the world, albeit more gradually).
It may also be possible to leave items on the ground permanently (I will have to test that); if items on the ground don't disappear you could bypass the horses entirely and use the stones to create a literal mountain of loot. :)

When you delete items from your inventory they are placed around your character on the ground in circles. It looks beautiful when you throw out lots of enchanted weapons and armor pieces :) One day I threw out about 30 pieces of zombie meat, or something and after closing inventory my character was standing in the middle of two redish circles made of that meat :) I was amazed! It looked like some kind of magical ring :)
I used to collect all the loot in my saddlebags and after they became full I'd go to a merchant and sell the stuff while seating on my horse. I'd press F2 (for inventory), put as much as I could from my saddlebags to my characters inventory, then I'd close it, press Space (opening trading window, which actually looks the same way as the regular inventory window), sell all that stuff, and repeat all procedure. The other day I made a mistake and pressed Space first, instead of F2, and accidentally bought stuff for like 100k :) Later I thought there was a bug that made my gold disappear :)
