What do I do? I am not a computer expert, what the hell is this and how do I get it? It always says that upon trying to launch the game.

Ok I installed directx9 and now it starts to load the game (th audio error is gone) but then it crashes saying (two worlds has stopped working). I have windows 7 and installed 2 program files instaed of program files x86 which everyone said not to do.

Right click on the desktop shortcut - make sure 'run as administrator' is selected and try setting the compatibility mode to Windows XP (service pack 3)

So when I hit run as admin it starrt the program without giving me a chance to change the compatability settings. And doesn't work. Then I tried to just go straight into troubleshooting compatability from the shortcut and changed it to windows xp sp 3, then it says to start the program before hitting next and doesn't give the option to run as admin from there. And trying it that way with xp sp 3 didn't work. Am I just screwed? I have a pretty good gaming computer so it can't be my hardware. I'm using an amd 630 quad core, radeon hd 4650 GPU, and I have several hundred gbs of hardrive space and like 6 gb RAM.

Ok I figured out how to set it to running as admin automatically and keeping the settings as xp sp3, but it still says "two worlds has stopped working" after just getting to the black screen with the 2 little 1 symbols or whatever they are.

Maybe try to reinstall in a non-program files folder. Windows does funny stuff with programs in that folder...

Does it matter where I install it to?
I just clicked to re-download the 3 sections. Another day night waiting for them to finish. Irritating, hopefully it'll be worth the wait and the 10 bucks. Sure looks awesome. Could I have installed it wrong? After I origionally finished downloading all sections I dragged one of them (can't remember which) to the orange icon with the white dic that says Two worlds setuo and it started the process of doing the integrity check and installing.

Heres how I installed it....

Download all 3 sections.

Double click the orange icon with the white disc - the Two Worlds Setup. This will start the installer and do the file integrity Checks. No need to touch the other two downloaded files.

When the Installer finishes checking, it gives you an option to change where you install the files to - change from the GOG one recommended to somewhere outside of 'program files' (i installed to C: )

Let the installer do its thing.

Hopefully this will cure your ills. There is a Two Worlds app out there to fiddle with graphics /resolutions /sound etc etc - search these forums for a link to it....

Why are you re-downloading it? Don't you still have the file you downloaded when you installed it the first time? Just re-run that installer (double-click it) and tell it to install the game in a different location as Robbeasy described.

Mainly because when it comes to computer gaming I'm still learning. I've been a console gamer till recently and actually I'm still learning computers altogether. But anyway, installing the game to something that didn't have program files in the name was the right idea, I'm good to go. Fun game so far. The controls and combat really don't seem all that bad.
