Does anyone know how to remove, or at the very least reduce, the screen flashes when you're hurt or pick up an item, either in a setting or a mod?

I find the constant flashes of blue in my face to be very annoying

The only known way to remove the screen effects is to turn off the HUD completely. This will also remove other effects like getting hit etc. too.
