Is the original 90s version, without any changes or graphical spruces, part of this? I know some other games on GOG that have had remasters of sorts also included the original version. Curious if this does.

No.

There is a few enhancements to get the game look a little more modern, but you can turn those off.
So yes, it's pretty much the exact same game.

But unfornately the game is buggy as hell. Check the other threads.
This is sad...
And neither XP nor Vista are supported OSes for this release, so I'd welcome the original too, especially considering the modernization has resulted in crash bugs.

I'd like the original version too. From the FAQ in the Steam community page they mention that they changed some levels and items too. It is nice to see a remaster, but the purist in me wants the original PC version too :-P

Also this seems to have a new engine so it is certain that there will be other things (like physics) different from the original games.

They put up a patch rapidly that fixes those.

Yes, I saw (forgot about this post I made before they fixed it). Looks like it might have been a GOG installer issue rather than the game itself, being as GOG fixed it that rapidly by releasing a new installer. I also saw that they were asking about the set computer names for those with the issue, so my thoughts are that it is something that they've seen before and are familiar with (and hence the quick fix).

Even so, if it ran on an older machine like mine (dual core, Vista Ultimate 64 bit) then I'd be more inclined to purchase, but Vista isn't a supported OS for the game and I've not yet seen anyone try it out.

Fairfox: I wonder what the bug could have been. I e-mailed (back) the support guy for the game and thanked him for the quick update/fix... and it turns out it might not have even been the company that made it, then. lolzer.

I doubt it was the computer name issue, although who knows. What I mean is mine's just a few characters long and has nothing 'weird' in there, or dashes, etc. Hmm.
The ones who posted in the crash thread all had a hyphen in their computer name. Possibly all using the offline installer to install the game, too, rather than the Galaxy client. There must be some reason why GOG Support asked what their computer names were. If not the hyphens, could it be position in the alphabet?

Would like the original 3DFX version myself.
