I just bought the Tropico reloaded pack, and installed it. But when I try and open, the screen goes black like it is loading, then it just reverts back to my desktop. There is a tab at the bottom showing like it is open, but nothing is. What can I do to play? I am running windows 7 64 bit

Make sure you've got all older components of DirectX 9 by installing this:

If that doesn't fix it, try running the game as Administrator (right-click on the game's icon => Run as ..) and if it still doesn't work, try Compatibility Mode for Windows XP (right-click on the game's icon => Properties => Compatibility).

Tropico also comes with an option to run it in "Safe Mode". Use C:\Tropico Reloaded\Tropico 1\Tropsafe.bat to start the game (try running this as Admin and in Comp Mode as well, if it doesn't work).

Alternatively, try installing the game into a custom folder (e.g. C:\GOG-Games\Tropico Reloaded) and not into "Program Files (x86)"
