...but damn, wait until you get to the level with the book.

I've never seen a story told so clever visually.

This is absolute AAA material.
Just finished it a few minutes ago,it's short for sure but i loved every minute of it,amazing atmosphere just like the previous games, what does not sit right with me is how it ends,i don't want to wait too long to see the conclusion of the story and i miss the upgrade system trine and trine 2 had for the three characters though the gameplay flows a little better in this one in my opinion
It's a shame that of the "major chapters" if we call them that, the book chapter seems to me the first where you are really constantly switching characters, sometimes in a timing-based manner. Because this is now where the game mechanics are starting to shine and show what's possible with the engine. The visual presentation itself of that level totally knocked my socks off, because not only is it very pretty, it fits so totally with the story line.

Agree though that the upgrades from previous titles would add something. On the other hand I like the character-specific mini challenges - maybe that's where they could have placed the "upgrades" (i.e. make them need the upgrades to progress, make you finish the challenge levels so you can progress).

They might as well have charged 40EUR and gave us double or at least 150% story length, for the production quality it has that would be fair price.

Ah,that level, that was quite the surprise and yes it was beautifully done graphically and gameplay wise,i know some people didn't like the 3D movement in this one but i thought after a while you get used to it and it's actually fun to explore(i've played it with a gamepad so i don't know if it's trouble playing with mouse&keyboard)and i agree that the side chapters were a fun diversion from the main levels

As for the short lenght i found this article if anyone is interested

seems like they underestimated the final budget needed to make a full lenght game with this type of polish and 3D environments, all in all the game is still worth it and i'd prefer an expansion or dlc to a fourth game in case sales go well
