HI,

Why is the Steam version available in 32/64bit and not the GOG version? Would prefer to purchase the GOG version.

PurSpyk: HI,

Go to the install folder. There is a Trine 64 bit.exe
I know there is a 64bit exe, I am looking for the 32bit version which come with the steam version?
Lucky you, Linux users are stuck with 32-bit only…
I want the 32bit version, will have to get it on Steam, pity
We can only provide the 64-bit executable on GOG because Galaxy allows only one Galaxy DLL, so we have to choose either 32-bit or 64-bit. We have chosen 64-bit because it's better generally (and allows the High and Very High Launcher options for us due to memory limitations with 32-bit), and over 90% of users use a 64-bit OS.

This will be the same for the Linux version as well eventually.

Sorry if this is a problem! Sadly we can't do much about it at this point. :(

JoelFB: (…)
What about providing the 64-bit version only for the Galaxy version, but still give the option to download a multiarch archive/installer outside of Galaxy?
If you can’t do this for any reason, would you be okay if a third-party (that’s me) distributed an archive providing only the 32-bit specific files (binaries + shipped libraries) to turn the 64-bit version into a 32-bit one?

(I’m speaking about the Linux version only here)
It's not completely out of the question but right now can't promise. As for your own script, depending on the script and what it does (sorry this is me not really knowing too much about this topic - we were fine with the Debian package script that's here somewhere though), we might view it positively but I also don't want to promise that yet either...

To be perfectly honest we have quite a bit of other pressing matters to focus on right now, so the 32-bit version on Linux or Windows on GOG is not the highest of priorities. Sorry! :(

Thanks for the positive feedback about the Debian packaging script, you’re the first one to give me an official approbation about it ;)

What I’m talking about for the matter at hand is an archive that would contain only the arch-specific files, no game assets at all, so someone could use it to "build" a 32-bit version of the game from a 64-bit one. Without the 64-bit version of the game it would be useless.
Anyway, I’ll make sure to contact you or another official about this before publishing anything.

Looks like you got it backwards for the Linux version: there’s only a 32-bit build available, no 64-bit one.
And it’s the other way around for Windows if I understand well what PurSpyk is saying.

I understand that Trine 3 is the top priority right now, but it is still nice to see there’s still some support for previous entries and that things are worked on, or at least acknowledged ;)

But you do'nt have to use the Galaxy client?
Is there any change to this? I would like to get some of games I got onto my Win XP laptop.
And on the flip side, I'd be thrilled if the Trine series worked on 64 bit Mac. It's sad seeing so many Mac games now unplayable on the new silicon even with Rosetta, I assume because they are still 32 bit
Shouldn't it be pointed out here that Trine 3 is being discussed?
Trine 1/2 are offered here as 32 bit versions.
Trine 3 is rated very poorly by many players.
