I can recommend you some platformers here on GOG that I absolutely loved, but I can't guarantee you they'll be that similar to Treasure Adventure Game, as, to be honest, I haven't finished it yet...

TAG's overall structure is Metroidvania-ish; there are some Metroidvanias suggested here: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/pc_metroidvaniasrougelikes/page1 Which ones are relevantly similar depends on just what simlarities you're looking for.
