I managed to solve the sound problem by changing the FMODDriver.txt from a 0 to a 1.

However, now whenever I try to change the volume in the game it hangs on me. Not crashes; the mouse still moves and if the sword was talking he continues to talk, but I can't move or access anything. I set up guake terminal to have a hotkey so I could kill it from the terminal, but that doesn't come up either. My only option is to restart my computer.
