This game has some serious balance problems. I first started to play it on normal and soon discovered that battles are trivial (excluding the very beginning). I restarted the game on hard and had to replay a large part of the campaign (which is unfortunately very linear) but at least the difficulty seemed to be right. I was defeated 2-3 times but was able to win the battles usually with better tactical positioning. The other battles were fun and required some attention but nothing special. Now I have just entered level 6 and the first battle at the entrance feels like a jump from easy to insanity in other games. I lost maybe 10 times already, tried all team members and can't even come close to winning. The problem is with what is usually called "exponential explosion". This is a 3 portal map with enemies that are much tougher than they used to be before. The thing is that if enemies are 2x tougher then I will have to spend 2x time to kill them at the first portal, conequently there will be 2x enemies at the second portal (they keep spawning all the time) and I will probably need 2-3x time to kill (due to more damage received) them and in effect there will be 4-6 times more enemies at the last portal. The number of enemies at the last portal "explodes". It is like a whole army which simply rushes me and wipes the floor with my team because (as said before) they are all very tough and high damage dealers. As there are no options for additional grinding in this game I will try a few times more and if I fail I will be done with this game. The concept of portal maps is dubious at best and with wrong balancing it is just plain nonsense.
