GOG says it is version 20.23, but on STEAM it is version 21.19.

Is it just different numbering of the same version, or is GOG missing any updates?

GOG is missing updates. I'm starting to think there is no process for regular updates in place. Annoying...

From what i know, unlike Valve the process is not automated so the gog team (which is not as large as valve) has to check them out manually or something like that

Guys, do you know if this has been addressed? I'm very tempted to buy the game but I'd rather have it where it is actually updated and not lagging behind compared to other shops.

Yes, the current version on GOG is 21.19, same as the current version on Steam, see attached pic.
