Alright FunkyFr3sh on the TA discord server has developed a patch to fix the directX nonsense go to the Total Annihilation Universe discord server and get the link in the #help channel for the cnc-ddraw zipfile, extract that into your TA GOG gamefolder and just run the desktop shortcut or the .exe simple and easy. These GOG forums wont let us post links so, find the TAUniverse discord or lookup cnc-ddraw on github to get the patch.

Yesterday I went through every multistep procedure on steam and the gog forums to try and get this game to work with our modern Windows 10 and nothing worked for me. Eventually got it to work with DxWnd but, this solution is the best. It fixes the directx issues without having to hook TA to dxwnd or any of that overcomplication. Dont need the latest unofficial beta patch or anything, it just works.
