Great way to get a good impression of the gameplay, since it totally differs from the original TA!

Well I wouldn't say "totally" though. It's pretty original indeed, I particularly like the fact that it doesn't simply use TA units/textures whilst just changing their stats.
The Arm/Core Commanders units appearance are entirely new/original but they are still (and look like) Commanders, which is very intuitive and classy. Same for Solars, Tidal Generator, Metal Extractors, Radars, Sonars and everything else.
