I've got a problem with the music in the main menu. After I've finished a mission the music keeps playing (you cannot hear the ambiont noise which is the standard in the menu). It even does not step if I start the intro. Both sound lines are played at the same time.

I also have got the old standard CD-Version (German). But this Problem does not exist there.

I'm using an Windows XP System (CD-Version works fine with it) and have installed the GOG-Version with both Add-ons.

Has anybody an idea?
Odd, I've never come across that before...

For the time being, why not just disable the ingame music near the end of a mission then and re-enable when you start another? I know this isn't exactly a permanent fix, but I haven't got the game installed right now to try to reproduce the error.
Thanks. That would work. But of course it is not a fix. ;)

I would try the music on this laptop (my gaming PC is awaiting spare parts) but GOG's account section is down, so I can't download TA onto this machine.
My game from GOG has the same problem...

Classified: My game from GOG has the same problem...
Seems to be a general problem...
So true, so true...
It's a pity that there isn't any fix to that problem yet. The music overall works bad.
When theres battle, the fast paced music should play and when theres building and construction then the gently music should play. This is not the case. The music doesn't even switch between tracks. It only repeats the same track over and over unless you load a game or restart the missions.

Sorry to reply to a half a year old message, but are you sure about the gently and fast paced music alternating depending what is happening on the game? I recall the retail version just played the audio CD track music straight up, irrespective of what was happening in the game.

But I think it did switch between tracks, ie. after one music track was played, it would switch to another. So if the GOG version just keeps playing the same music over and over again (until the level changes?), I think that is a bug.

As far as I know and remember did the game select which track to play. The game knew which track from the CD is fast and which not. Maybe through simple coding I suppose (if thats possible?) There even is the option to customize the replay of music in the game. I too remember that gently music got interrupted once battle started. It was pretty weird though when the sudden action driven tracks interrupted the slow paced ones.

Maybe someone else can recall similar memories?

Retail TA played music from the CD yes, and it DID alternate between building and battle tracks when the action heated up/died down. I remember because it was one of my favorite things about the game :P
Alternating tracks are broken in all the digital versions and it doesn't seem possilbe to fix, but the unofficial patch fixes the music playing in the main menu. If you've still got an issue this should help: http://www.tauniverse.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43735

thank you for the link. Are you sure the in-game sound is still broken? The patch readme looks like it fixes quite a lot of things.
Also, I've read here that the in-game music bug existed in the original game here as well. Can anyone confirm this?
