An excellent patch for the game! Although I am a bit late, thanks for posting this link. It makes TA much more enjoyable, and that's saying a lot for one of the best RTS games out there.
You guys should also check out the 3 major mods ESC, Mayhem and Zero.

Fixes to pathfinding are hugely welcome, plus they added in all the old Cavedog assets just to cover all the bases. Then there's the small balance tweaks etc. That alone would be a good patch, but by God did they go above and beyond!

New time saving key combinations like Shift+X+Left Click/Drag to create rows of buildings is fantastic!
The megamap is simply an amazing addition, a stolen concept from Supreme Commander to be sure, but fair game as it was the spiritual successor. I'm amazed that they could make it work and it is so seamless.
Re-upping the unit cap is wonderful, when I first got the GOG version recently (for some reason my disc version wouldn't install - weird) I was saddened that it was at two hundred and fifty per side when I had always had it higher back in the day, one thousand five hundred per side ... well now the annihilation is definitely total. [Insert the sunglass, 'yeah' all that jazz here]

Now if you'll excuse me from my gushing over this I have a battle minimized that really needs winning and just ... this kind of carnage needs to be watched!

This one was already included in the TA Demo Recorder, though.

1. First introduced by Cavedog in Total Annihilation: Kingdoms. TA's unofficial version is much more similar to TAK's than to SC's. Actually, the guy who made it (xpoy) knows a lot about TAK.
2. Mine is fine, but a lot of people lag with this TA full-screen radar, especially in newer Windows versions. Which doesn't happen in TAK (still the best megamap, the original, by the way).

Also old... but yes, it's nice that they included this all in the 3.9 patch. Plus several other changes.

Only the last official patch (3.1) is applied, you will have to install 3.9.02 on your own as it is a fan patch.
Any idea why the music is not playing with this patch installed? I am running through wine.
