For some reason I can't see my menu options. I can't change the resolution of the menu's Also whenever I do manage to find my way through the menu with the arrow keys enter and esc the mousse acts funny. Last time the game only let me go over the map north, but not in any other direction.

I'm playing this on windows 8 64 version

You can try to run the game in window mode using the method explained in this forum post. It seems to solve various display issues.
