I did a Google search on the subject a while ago,and all I found were dead links,so,now I ask the people who probably know what they're doing. I'm looking for three, maybe four things, primarily.

-Unit cap. 250 unit cap is STIFLING to me. Almost all of that is going into my base, defensive clusters, econ, and engineering team. Now,outside of artillery from home or an advance position, how am I going to win with 40 units? Yes,I came into TA from SupCom.

-Pathing. Unit pathing is a PAIN. Units get hung up on the most stupid of things, including eachother. It irks me,and I really don't want to be babysitting my land forces while they make their way to the enemy position.

-AI. The AI is damaged. It builds artillery in places where the shell is stopped by terrain ten feet from the muzzle, defenses at the core of the base where their use is diminished, and it seems to like to build huge land forces when there are no land connections. And let's not forget the navies in ponds.

-Range indicators. When I'm building a defensive cluster, especially artillery,I need to know where the guns can shoot. Eyeballing it is hardly reliable, especially on the resolution I play on.

Anyone know any mods that alleviate these issues?
Check tauniverse and install the community patch. Or try the mods ESC and TA Zero. zero.tauniverse.com/
I installed Escalation, because it adds some nifty things. It quadrupled the unit cap, which is nice, and artillery pieces have range indicators, which is also nice. Aside from that, though, the AI and pathing are still bordering on mental retardation. I just did a 2v2 on Metal Isles, and the first enemy AI got pelted by hovertanks and didn't do a thing about it,while the other fought my ally to a stalemate until I brought in a Vermin and Victory. I don't want something that turns the AI into a pro-league player, but I'd like something that actually makes the AI be intelligent.

Try TA Zero. The AI is pretty good and pathfinding is improved.
I used to play XTA from "the Swedish yankspankers". They also did a 1500 or 2500 unit patch using a exe file. You know about changing the totala.ini unit limit right? http://www.shonner.com/ta/unitlimit.htm

There is also UberHack with cloaking perimeter cameras and much more.

entering +showranges in the in-game chat field (press [ T ] ?) gets you unit gun ranges. I know of no fix for the bug that ships will move into range for their lowest range weapon and get shot at by anything on shore. Maybe some mod changed the ranges for their weaker lasers so they match their heavy guns?

I don't play TA in full HD resolution since it makes everything really tiny.
get escalation its amazing

Oke gameranger it is then...
Switech or TA Killer AI are good replacements for the stock AI personalities. Though I think they're best used in conjunction with the TAUIP unit pack.
