Basic GoG TA running fine.

But when I try to install the TA Escalation mod, I get an error message, "...some prerequisites missing...the 'Visual C++ SP1 Redistributable' needs to be installed", I DL that and attempt to install it. I then get "install failed, some prerequisites are missing..."

HELP............... thanks.

EDIT......

Ok, I think this is what is FUBAR....

I just checked in "Control Panel/Installed Programs'.... is the following:
*MS Visual C++ 2010(x64) Redistributable 10.0.40219
*MS Visual C++ 2010(x86) Redistributable 10.0.40219
*MS Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64) 11.0.6103.0
*MS Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x86) 11.0.6103.0
*MS Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64) 12.0.30501.0
*MS Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86) 12.0.30501.0
*MS Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64) 14.0.24210.0
*MS Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86) 14.0.24210.0

What the heck........is this part of the issue, and anyone know for sure what I need to do?

I though you had that problem when you tried installing the patch 3.9.0.2? lol

The latest Escalation patch is now the problem. I have the Escalation .exe on my desktop, but the game crashes out almost immediately.

I'm using another site w/ more users to help out, rather than one here who posts "lol".
Well good luck trying to install that mod, although it seems that you just have to google solutions on that visual c++ thing.

Like I've said several times before, you could also join https://discord.gg/NEuMN8u and try to get real-time help, the chat is also friendly to external content which helps.

The issues I had with the Visual C++ I believe have been taken care of.

I now have TAESC 6.8.1 installed and running, but only at a 1024x768 resolution which is unplayable.

At someone's suggestion I DL'd and put in the Esc folder a 'TA_res' file, but it did not help.

Yep, looks like all you had to do is change the resolution, how lol!

Have fun crybaby 8)

Other resolution choices were available when I did a new install w/ help from the TAUniverse folks. TAESC running fine at 2560x1440.
