I have Windows XP Home on a Asus eee pc 1101ha.

When I try to launch Total Annihilation, I get the following error :
- Error: Environment Initialization Failed! Check your DirectX setup

Works in windowed mode (-d).

So a solution would be :
- change resolution to 1024x768
- ratio options : full screen without edges
- hide windows bar (where there is a start button)
- in the Total Annihilation shortuct => right click => properties => at the end of "Target" => add " -d" at the very end so it looks like : ...TotalA.exe" -d
- launch Total Annihilation
- go the options menu => visuals => choose screen size => 1024x768

There you go, a full screen "simulation" !!!

Thanks for the solution! TA is running now on my Thinkpad T61 but even if I change the resolution of the game it's still the same shitty 640x480. So there is nothing happening!
May be it would be usefull to change this stuff in the file where the relolution is stored?
Does somebody kwow which file would be the right one to have a look?
Thanks in advance!
