Hi everybody. I was able to launch the game day one and everything was fine. I then decided to wait a couple of days to get a new microphone to support a lets play. Now all I get after launch is a pink screen. I made sure all graphics drivers were updated (Nvidia) and followed the advice of one of the devs from the Steam Support group that replied to a user over there having the same issues, to no avail. I have uninstalled the game and am redownloading it now. Any thoughts on how to avoid this from happening again? Thanks for anyone who replies.

I have the same problem, everything is updated and I have all the c++ programs which are needed, but the after start of the game the screen is just pink. sound is fine.

anyone?
same here! it always worked and suddenly... no more.
Same here - any suggestions?

Update: the problems started after Win10 installed the Creators Update. The solution for me was to completely de-install and then re-install the graphics drivers

I had a similar issue, but was unable to find the solution anywhere else, so I am documenting my process here in case anyone else runs into the problem.

I had a white screen (rather than pink) upon launch, which would stay that way until I pressed space. It would then turn into a black screen, which was unresponsive and had to be closed with task manager. During both the white and the black phases I could see the game's cursor just fine, but nothing else.

I tried, in accordance with tips from other places:
- Updating my graphics drivers (nvidia gtx 980)
- Re-installing my graphics drivers, marking the clean install option
- Enabling GPU scaling in the nvidia control panel
- Closing MSI Afterburner
- Disabling my firewall
- Forcing the game to run with one CPU thread
- Clearing the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\InXile Entertainment\Torment folder in the system registry
- Re-installing the game (multiple times) with the verify integrity checkbox checked - not using galaxy
- Running the game in compatibility mode (windows 7, windows 8, run as administrator)

Nothing on this list made any difference. In my output_log.txt I had some lines at the bottom that said "Skipped rendering frame because GfxDevice is in invalid state (device lost)" and similar - I'm guessing this is related.

I got it to work by one of the following measures (no idea which, I did all of them at the same time):
- Redownloading the install files on another computer, testing that the game worked there, and using these files on this computer instead. This might point to the first set having been corrupted somehow.
- Clearing the system registry again, as well as the folder the game had created in appdata during a previous installation (where you find the save games and config files)
- Installing it on my HDD rather than my SSD
- Pre-approving the .exe in my firewall (windows defender) before first startup

I hope this helps someone.
