The game has frozen and stopped responding several times while in the middle of a crisis (details below, beware minor spoilers). The freezes are unlikely to be related to my system's hardware, and I know of no software issues outside of a problem with the game which would cause these symptoms.
There are not too many adjustable options within the game menus, and the only ones that seem plausible to have any effect are antialiasing (low) and dynamic cloth (enabled).
Windows 7 x64
AMD X4 Phenom II
8GB RAM
ATi HD6970 (latest non-beta drivers)
300+GB free disk space
Of the two freezes I have some details for, one was in the sticha lair with two additional party members (Callistege and Rhin) and the other was a bit further along in the story with three party members (the former two plus Matkina).
