Hello, everyone! Now that Torchlight 2 is available on GOG, I've uploaded my Bigger Stash mod to Nexus Mods. This is a simple mod that increases the size of each stash to have 10 pages per category. It only affects the player stash and shared stash, and has no effect on player or pet inventories. There are minimal changes made to the UI, just two buttons added for changing pages and a small bit of text to show you which page you're on.

When I made the mod (I think it's been over two years now) I did my best to test it properly, and have not had any instances of item loss from adding the mod to an existing character. From what I remember, I also never received any reports of bugs or other issues after publishing the mod on Steam Workshop. However, as always, please make sure to BACK UP YOUR SAVE FOLDER before installing this mod, just to be safe.

I hope you enjoy the mod! If you experience any problems with it, please let me know and I'll try to look into it.

Thanks! It works so far without problems. Torchlight 2 detects moded install and uses a different directory for saves immediately.
Playing a previous save afterward WITHOUT this mod will cause your later pages to be deleted (page 1 was still ok for me). Make sure you save/backup (or that you don't care about your items) before you play the same character without this mod OR with a new mod with a higher priority that you haven't before (only stash-affecting mods are likely to matter, but badly-designed mods with leftover garbage could conflict unexpectedly with anything else).

Here's what happens with this:

Bigger Stash increases the size of each category of the Player Stash and Shared Stash to hold 400 items instead of the normal 40. Without the mod, the size reverts to 40, and anything after the first 40 slots (the first page of each category) is lost as a result. This only affects stashes that are loaded when playing without the mod. So, for example, playing the vanilla game (choosing to play without mods in the launcher, and thus using the "save" folder instead of the "modsave" one) shouldn't give you any problems. None of your modsave stashes are loaded, so they aren't affected by the mod not being there.

If you play using the modsave folder, then that's where things can get lost. Playing with any character will cause their Player Stash and the Shared Stash to load, regardless of whether or not you actually open either stash. This means that, without the mod, loading even one character will lose you any items stored in the Shared Stash past the first page of each category. However, it will not affect the Player Stash of other characters. For example, let's say after playing with Bigger Stash you decide to play without it while using the modsave folder. If you load Character A, then their Player Stash and the Shared Stash will potentially lose items. However, Character B's Player Stash will be safe as long as they aren't loaded without the mod. I hope that all makes sense.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work.
Just went and checked it out. mine works great. 10 pages each list.

I extracted the folder from .rar file into the mods folder. It didn't work.
Then I put the mod file directly, without folder where it was packed within .rar file, unfortunately, it didn't work either...

After a bit of experimenting I have figured out how to make it work. Not all of us were/are familiar with how modding works in Torchlight II. Torchlight modding is simple - you extract the mod folder which contains mod files into the "mods" folder, and run the game. The mod gets applied automatically.

Torchlight II has some additional steps in order to make the mods work.
1.) I put the mod folder containing this mod file into the "mods" folder, but I didn't know I had to click the option below play Torchlight II with mods.

2.) When I figured that out, I went to play the game, but all of my characters were not there. Luckily, they did not disapper. Turns out what I had to do was I had to move save files from "save" folder into "modsave" folder.

3.) When I did that, I thought everything is going to be cool. Unfortunately the mod still didn't work. So I had to open "run Torchlight II with mods" menu, left click to highlight the More Stashes mod on the top right corner of the application, and then click "launch and play Torchlight II with mods" at the bottom right corner.

It works fine.

Thanks for this - very useful info. +1
Is there a current tutorial on how to increase stash Torchlight II. I am not much of a gamer, so do not really understand mods and other tech-game stuff but I can follow a how to video. Thanks

God bless you, Wishmaster777! You're a good man who knows that causal players are not born hackers or genius programmers like these modders that assume everyone is a MIT authority. Your step-by-step tutorial on how to install my 1st time mod ever saved me from a lot of wasted time and frustrations (I usually hate playing with mods, I'm a casual gamer, I never stress about achievements and completing god-knows-what mechanics, but this doesn't mean that I like cheating by playing with mods. But this game, as beautiful as it still is in 2022, made me dread continuing playing with only 40 slots of inventory. This is probably my only and biggest complaint about this otherwise great game)

Anyway, thanks again for the great tutorial. I followed your steps to the T and it does indeed work perfectly. Now, back to ACT 2 of my veteran playthrough.... Cheers, mate!
