I'm playing Torchlight 2 for the first time on Linux and i have stutters all the time.
I tried different graphic settings but i can't get rid of it.
On Win7 the game run fine with the same specs. I'm currently running win7 as dual boot beside Linux, but since its support end i didn't wanted to go to win 10.

CPU: AMD FX 8350
GPU: GTX 1060 (3GB)
OS: (DUAL BOOT) Linux Mint 19.3 (Cinnamon, 64-Bit) / Windows 7 Premium (64-Bit)

What does this command line tell you?

inxi -G

No need to tell us your user name nor your computer's name.

Did you try starting the game in the terminal? If so, did you recieve any error messages and what were they?

There are several ways but not all work in all distros. I think you could tick a box in the properties of the link. Can look more into it tomorrow if need be.

Do I understand correctly that you have two monitors?

It looks like the game just might work (barely and badly for sure) on my laptop so can try that tomorrow.
@Themken
thanks for your help.
yes i've got two monitors.

AlpakaDream: yes i've got two monitors.
Does turning the other monitor off help? Three GB or VRAM is just too little for two 1080p. I personally found it too little for a single monitor with that resolution.

Sorry way past bed time here so not going to install anything now, been too busy.
@Themken
unfortunately it changed nothing.
I have Win7 as dual boot and torchlight 2 runs fine there with the same hardware, so it must be a linux problem.
I'm also not playing on the second monitor, i'm playing just on one monitor.

I know 3gb isn't the best, but i can also play games like No Man's Sky pretty good with that, and they have heavier graphics then torchlight.
