Hi, I bought Torchlight today on GoG and along with the download came a patch. But the game version is 1.0.2.10 and the patch is 1.0.1.8.
To me it seems that this patch makes the game an older version, do I still need to use this patch?

If you are talking about setup_torchlight_1.0.2.10.exe, then that's our internal version number for our installers and not the actual game version. The patch that we offer is to help with mod compatibility :D.

Actually, the patch is already integrated in the setup you downloaded. It's still available for download for those who downloaded the installer before there was a patch.

In short: no, you don't need it.

Aren't you supposed to tell us when the installer has been revised:-)
...or did I miss it?

Ah, thank you. It's the numbers that got me confused, thought the 1..0.2.10 was indeed a game version.
