Though I'm playing the game for quite some time now, I still don't know the purpose of Fame.
You get it whenever you finish a quest or defeat a boss or one of those red glowing dudes.
But what does it do?

You gain fame levels, just like normal ones - from experience. For every fame level your character receives an additional skillpoint.

Ahhh and I thought I get 2 skill points for one level up every now and then.
