Many people are saying that the best Tomb Raider are the first trilogy (available both on gog and steam).

I read many compatibilities issues about the gog versions...

What version should I buy to have the best compatibility with these first games? (gog/steam) Thx.

Go with the GOG versions. If I'm not mistaken, the two versions should be identical (Squeenix simply taking the GOG-prepared version and putting it on Steam), but GOG actually provides support and refunds for their products. Steam habitually sells whatever a publisher gives them, even if it is utterly broken and non-functioning, and take no responsibility for supporting it. On top of that, I think the GOG pack is cheaper.

That said, many regard The Last Revelation as the best of the original TRs. The trilogy is close behind, though ;)

*ahem* #2 is the best. :D

But to the OP, go with the original trilogy as Spinorial said. If you are a die hard and don't mind spending a few extra bucks you can pick up Glidos to run #1 on (he sets it up to run the GOG version and it's gorgeous!). Like I said that does cost a few extra bucks (5 or 10 USD when I got it) so if you aren't a TR freak you might want to pass on that for now.
Thx for advises. I will maybe buy both first trilogy + last revelation... Probably when they will be on sales.

Btw Glidos isn't free? (you said spending extra bucks about it...)

Yeah you can get a trial version for free to try it out but it throws adds and stuff up until you buy a code. When I got it it was 10 USD. I'll see if I can find a link; it never hurts to look at it.

Hello. Finally, i took the TR Collection on steam. It is on sales for 16 € only so I bought it because many games inside the pack are good.

You said that TR 1+2+3 are same versions like steam then I didn't hesitate... :)

And I already have many games on gog, so that's not a problem! ;)
