hey everyone this is my first topic and today i'm going to show you how to solve TRAoD FMV Crash
The error reads :

UNKNOWEN ERROR : PLEASE INSERT DISK FOR DATA/FMV/EIDOS.MPG

Tons And Tons of people have encountered this error and today i'm gonna show you the most EASIEST WAY TO SOLVE A ERROR EVER!!!!

its really easy to solve this problem actually and this is the way :

Download And install TRAod Start up configuration utility ( TRAoD SCU )
Locate where you're TRAOD.EXE Is located . it will be something like this:
;c / GOG Games / Tomb Raider The Angel Of Darkness / TRAOD.EXE
now simply mark : SKIP FMV
and click start game and enjoy ! :)
i hope this post helps and i hope it will be sticky since lots of people are having this problem especially Windows 8 users ( like me :) )
NOTE :
Some people will notice i don't own the game here on GOG . but i actually own it on another site

I know it's been a while, but I managed to fix the issue by installing something known as 'quartz' (DirectShow), thus not requiring to skip any FMVs. In this case winetricks is required. On Windows, install whatever provides you with Quartz.dll, although I don't know if it's on Windows by default, but in GNU/Linux I did:

(single quotes delimit non-literal strings to be interpreted by whoever reads this.)

WINEPREFIX='/path/to/wine/prefix' WINEARCH='win32 or win64' winetricks quartz
