is there a patch available for tomb raider 2? because i'm still suffering from the looping music/cutscene dialog bug therefore, making the game unplayable. I need a fix NOW. this is the old bug by the way where the music loops indefinitely until the next one is triggered. has GOG finally taken their finger out their ass and made a patch for this bug?

Bear in mind that GOG do not get game source code, so they cannot fix all problems. They can tweak executables to use more than 2GB RAM, and add shims to add "out of the box" compatibility. They can also use known fixes and patches in certain circumstances, as well as 3rd party applications (e.g. DOSBox for DOS games, nGlide for 3DFX emulation, Direct Draw wrappers, ScummVM, etc).

Fixes and tweaks along these lines are fine, but beyond these, all GOG can be expected to do is to contact the game developer. The GOG staff are not the game developers.

As for the TR2 music bug, as per the post that you've already commented in:
http://www.gog.com/forum/tomb_raider_series/bugged_music_in_tomb_raider_2
GOG included the fan made patch that seems to have fixed the music bug for some, but it looks like not everyone.

I had this problem whilst playing TR2

If you save the game and reload it should return to the normal ambient sounds. It's a pain in the ass but it works. I recently completed the GOG version of the game doing this. Think of it as a reminder to save often. :P

The only other alternative is to mute the music completely using the in game menus (which is what I ended up doing after 170 saves).

It's a shame that theirs no fix for this in sight.

Saving and reloading worked for me as well. Considering how quickly TR2 saves and loads, it wasn't too bad.

or how about GOG just find a way to fix the fucking thing? or better still, have them contact rebellion and get the original Core team to have a look at it. because it isn't a reminder to save often at all. it only renders the game unplayable. I tried using my disk copy to get around it but it is now very glitchy, forcing me to use the GOG version. I've tried a work around and posted about it too but the work around only works 30% of the time. also to answer Korell , the source code has been released. that was what the level editor in the PC version of Chronicles was for. although I know next to nothing about programming so maybe it is much simpler just to get someone to hack the game and fix the bug that way seen as how GOG are being very lazy. contacting the original Core team would be first priority though.
