When I try to start the game, the FMV runs just normally, but after that, I get only black screen, and no song. Is there any solution?
When I try to start a new game from the main menu (where all icons are spinning unless I unplug my gamepad btw.) I get a black screen too, but right away. :(

It happens to me too. I've found that the Glidos source port fixes the problem but I really shouldn't have to use it.

It might be how DOSBox works with your system hardware. Try changing things like the output mode.

Also, and what I would recommend anyway, replace the included version of nglide with the latest one from the official website. It might help, it might not, but is definitely worth a try.
I have the same issue. I start a new game, and it loads a black screen. No music, and a black screen. I did DL glide from the website, but it still does the exact same thing.

You need to delete Glide2x.dll in Tomb Raider's DOSBOX folder for nGlide to be used instead of the DOSBox version.

If you run the nGlide installer, yes, but you can just extract the installer (using 7-zip) to get the configurator and the DLL files, and then you can put them alongside the game executable and it'll use those instead of any within the Windows System folders.

As for the black screen issue, changing the output mode might fix it.

Yes, that would work, but installing it can be more convenient overall since you can then repeat the DLL deletion for any other Glide DOSBox games and they'll automatically use the system version without further tinkering.
How to change the output mode? And change it from what to what? Having the same black screen problem.

Run Graphic Mode Setup from the Start menu or the installation folder and experiment with the "graphic mode" setting until you get something that works.

This also works for other DOSBox games that show a black screen.

Didn't find a solution that way, most of the time the game wouldn't start up and when it did I had the same black screen problem after wanting tos tart a new game or go in Lara's mansion.

Might have found a solution here, will try it tonight:

You cans cratch that link, I don't think it talks about Tomb Raider 1. At least it didn't work.
My wife has the exact same problem with Tomb Raider 1 on her notebook. I am not sure now, but I think it would go eventually after turning windowed mode and then fullscreen.

That's been an awesome tip, thanks for sharing it.

Running the game windowed lets me actually play it and as soon as the intro movie starts I can go back to full screen by pressing ALT + ENTER. So far it seems to work.

Thanks! :)
