I'm 100% with you on this. It was so frustrating for me that I uninstalled it on the level after the opera house (I don't recall the name but it started with me exiting a little biplane).

I admit that I'm not a whizz on games but to me the enemies were placed in places where it's nigh on impossible (for me) to kill them without taking serious damage. Yes, it may be realistic as no-one can take 5 bullets and survive but I play games to get away from realism. Even jumping in all directions doesn't seem to help much against the pinpoint accuracy of your enemies.

Also, jumping between ledges only to miss one by an inch and then falling to your death is infuriating.

Everyone should have fun when playing, whether that be by facing the challenge presented or cheating to progress. So if you find it easier to use trainers, then do so.
I have completed TR2 twice with ease however not played gog version I will try it and report but I doubt gog could have changed it such that enemies are 'harder than normal'

I just realised that we resurrected an old thread!

Perhaps you're just better at those kind of games than I am but TR2 was infuriatingly difficult for me. Did you use a joypad or mouse/keyboard config as I tried the latter and found it fiddly.

To be fair, I did start a thread in the general community section asking for opinions for easy gog games!

Also, you may find a challenging game more rewarding whereas I prefer a chilled out experience. "Whatever floats your boat", I guess applies here.

Keyboard for me. If I used a pad I wouldn't be able to get my ass out of Croft Manor! :D

Fair enough - I tip my hat to you. I really didn't get on with the keyboard/mouse controls. It is a good game but without being able to set an easier difficulty option, it narrows its potential audience. I did still buy it I guess but having read that the latest TR installment revolves around survival, I've steered well clear.

You need to starting with #6. It's kind of unavoidable.

BTW Congrats! Yeah that boat thing can be a lot of fun but it can also be a pain in the ass. Have you ever played #3? The kayak is hands down the worst of any TR game.

I've only played 6 on ps2 and completed it; i've done 3 with all secrets and completed the All Hallows bonus level didn't mind the kayak lol understand why it is annoying but i'm patient and loaded a lot till i got it right to get that secret

Just completed Bartoli's hideout and literally had 0 health left dunno why i wasn't dead but that last guy at end i had to use rocket launcher twice that level to complete without med pack

You obviously don't need a walkthrough or really any input on this game but as an obvious fan I have to mention Stella's Tomb Raider Archive. You've probably heard of it but if not it is hands down the best TR site I have ever been too. I even go there for extra levels and patches.

I've heard of it; never used it. I've used prima's walkthrough book for TR3 - someone bought it and I borrowed it can't really remember. As for TR 2 I blinded it pretty much first time playing it and second time used sites to get all secrets. TR4 however I used commentaried youtube vids; this one guy is really entertaining to watch.

EDIT // I'm yet to complete TR1 and 5. Refuse to play anniversary - started to didn't like it. Completed Legend, such a disappointment. Only Crystal Dynamics TR game I like is A survivor is born and got 100% first play through (went back to complete challenges at end and found hints online as had no clue for a couple of them)

tinyE are you using a controller or just the normal keyboard?

i find it MUCH easier to maneuver and play with a USB controller that is JUST like the playstation controllers, so much easier to move lara around to doge enemies and just getting her through the adventures in all.

Keyboard. That probably has something to do with being born and raised on computers. I used to give shit to people for using a controller until I realized they actually do better with it. I on the other hand am hopeless. If you give me a controller poor Lara will end up going off EVERY SINGLE CLIFF she comes across. :D
