so when ever i launch the game it opens in a tiny window and if i press any button itll go black and freeze. IF i manage to get it full screen and dont press any buttons, its good, until i click new game then after that it always go black and freezes. ive tried running it in minimized window and max window and tried doing win 98 and xp compatibility but nothing works. also tried running as admin still nothing.....any help?

You should provide more information about your system (hardware, OS, etc.) in order to get help.

That said, I suggest you to try using dgVoodoo 2 as a DirectX 7 wrapper:
- Download the latest version and extract the archive;
- Open the MS\x86 folder and copy D3D8.dll, D3DImm.dll and DDraw.dll files;
- Paste these files into game's installation folder (where the game executable is located);
- (Optional) Run the included dgVoodooCpl program to configure the settings;
- Launch "Tomb Raider: Chronicles".

oh wow i am just now seeing this, GOG sucks with telling me when i have a reply. anyway i fixed this issue a month ago by grabbing a full screen patch made i think by peixoto
