Are any of the newer Tomb Raider games any good, and if they are then is it possible to buy them DRM-Free from Amazon or Gamersgate?
Legend is the best of the three. Enjoyed it a lot even when I replayed it years later.

Anniversary can be quite frustrating the first time you play it, especially some of the action sequences. My second playthrough was easier, but somehow the game still wasn't too much fun.

Underworld can be fun the first time around, though when I played it for a second time, I felt it was inferior to Legend.

Unfortunately, neither amazon, nor gamersgate offer drm-free versions of the game. They either have securom or, in amazon's case, offer you a steam key.

To sum it up, the games can be quite fun if you've never played them. Only Anniversary can be disappointing at times, but your mileage may vary.

I'd recommend getting them if you haven't, but I don't know if drm will be a deal breaker for you.

I personally thought they were great games. I especially liked Anniversary. Going back to some of those old maps redone is quite cool.
Anniversary and Underworld are great. They are in the same spirit as TR1-4, but with gameplay improvements like movement, the camera, and the graphics.

Legend is similar but is much more action-focused. But it is still definitely worth getting. You can play it for free on GameTap, but it would be nice seeing a GOG.com with all the extras.
I can't play Underworld because my pc is lousy, but the other 2 are must haves. Legend is short but fast as hell and I found the boss battles a nice change from 99% of the other boss battles out there in every other game. Plus the speed trials are doable.

TRA is a must for anyone who has played them all. When I played it I had the original TR 1 on Glidos plugged in so I could compare the two. For sentimentality, design, length, and the T-Rex I'd make TRA my fave of them all. I'm rambling. Sorry.
TRA is a remake of the first TR as far as I know. Never played the original TR1 but I thought Anniversary was pretty great. For some reason I'd assumed Tomb Raider was more of a survival horror game but in reality it's... got a lot more in common with Ico.
Will GOG be getting these any time soon? I thought these would be released next after AOD, but it seems they stopped.
Legend, Anniversary and Underworld are a must play if you like the original games.

Some things are different, that I like in TR1 more, such as movement, where Lara is always facing forward and can walk backward in TR1, while in the never titles it is a more generic 3rd person system, where Lara turns around and faces you when moving backward. But there are great improvements also, such as the always on view mode (mouse user here).

Anniversary retells the TR1 story, but prettier. Those Egypt locations are one of the best things Ive seen in games.

I got my DVD's as UK imports, uncut and no DRM and such. They're cheap too now, so grab them as fast as you can.
