Hi,

just wanted to know if anyone else has encountered the problem? Tomb Raider 4 worked just finde but 5 doesn't. It plays the EIDOS cutscene but after that just a blank screen, screen resolution stuck at 640x480. All I can do is to press CTRL+ALT+DEL and log off. The game just doesn't respond anymore.

I have an nvidia graphics card, if it matters. TR4 ran smooth and perfect, but TR5 not :(

Anybody got an idea? BTW I'm running Windows 8.1 pro 64bit.

Hmm, few things you can try: different compatibility modes - right-click the game's shortcut, go to Properties -> Compatibility.
Or start the game in windowed mode (using the launcher) and skip over the introduction video, then get the game to the main menu and enter full screen from there via Alt+Enter.

The post is old, but I respond because I have exactly the same problem in 2024, Tomb Raider 4 is perfect, work really fine, gamepad also, but tomb raider 5 after hours, I only succeed to make it run with Lara moving itself, making the game unplayable...
