I've downloaded the mod Tomb Raider 1 Revised and scanned it for viruses. My Norton software removed the TR4 exe on account of "suspicious cloud 9" saying the file release is not known and it is unknown how many Norton users have used the file.

I have noticed full let's plays of the mod on youtube and there are positive reviews of the game on TRLE.net which is where I downloaded it from.

Is this a false positive?

Afraid so. That does answer my question however. Why do they have such a bad reputation for false positives anyway?

I don't know, but I found out the hard way. I had it a few years ago and I had to shut it down to do virtually everything. My dad has it on his laptop and I can tell whenever he's using it because I can I hear him cursing from the other side of the building.

Revised is this TR1 Remake within the TR4 Engine, right? Played it almost 10 years ago, maybe somewhere around 2007-2009. It was a great mod and (for me) it had no virus in it. I would say your antivirus programm is wrong. Did you download the mod from a legit source? Which website was it?

I think it's one Stella links to on her site and her site links are legit.
