Hello everybody,

I want to share something that I've discovered this morning while trying to mod the original Tomb Raider using the TombRaider-AutomatedFix.

While installing the mod is really trivial, getting Galaxy to count the play time is not. I don't know if there's a way to edit the behavior of Galaxy's play button. That would have been the easiest way, but I couldn't find anything about that.

Instead, what I did was installing the game normally and making a copy of the whole game folder (for backup purposes). Then I've installed the mod. Now make a copy of the game folder with the modded files inside (let's call it TRMOD).
Since Galaxy tries to start the game from inside the DOSBOX folder, first we need to delete everything inside the DOSBOX folder, then we need to copy all the files from the TRMOD folder (without the DOSBOX folder) inside the DOSBOX folder.
Done! No need to do anything else (for example, deleting the files outside the DOSBOX folder will make Galaxy believe that the game is no longer installed; this will happen after a restart).

Now, when we press play from Galaxy, the game will start with all the HD stuff and Galaxy will keep counting the play time. Just be aware that the mod won't be able to load any original savegame. I tried renaming a savefile to match the new format, but the game kept crashing after trying to load the file. I had to replay the first 4 levels, but it was worth it, with all the sounds and the improved visuals.

Hope this helps.

I was on the same quest very recenty and found another solution, perhaps even simpler.
All I had to do was to edit goggame-(...).nfo within Tomb Raider's directory by changing path to the executable.

Worked like charm with GOG Galaxy 2.0 beta and Tomb Raider 1 with automated fix applied (Unfinished Business included).

That didn't work for me, so I went the long way >.< I will give it a try again tomorrow, thank you.
The first method work perfectly, thanks a lot. :)

Could you please post the file contents? I want to try your method too.

I don't have TR1 installed at the moment, but I'll see what I can do. Stay tuned ;)
OK, it took me less than I expected.
Here's a screenshot of edits I made to the goggame-1207663463.info: original file on the left, edited one on the right. Posting it as an image, but I think it's better to show off the comparison result this way. Note the first three lines are blacked out intentionally.

Keep in mind that dosbox.exe is still a valid executable (even though DOSBox itself is no longer used) as this is how the AutomatedFix called the main executable (the dual choice menu: main game or Unfinished Business).

I confirmed this setup to work with GOG Galaxy 2.0.13 just moments ago. The playtime gets accumulated as well.

It works! But I think GOG just fixed our problem. As of yesterday, we can define custom executables under Manage Installation -> Configure -> Launch Parameters. Just check the tickbox and then add a new path to dosbox.exe created by the Automated Fix.

Thank you GOG!
