Hello,

I have just installed the game in Windows 10 using the offline procedure choosing French for the installer and English for the game. There were no subtitles and I did not fin an in-game option to enable them although it is claimed in the store page of TR 1+2+3 that English ones were available. I did not find a way in the Internet to enable them leading me to believe that there were no subtitles for the first game.

1. Is it true, no subtitles for the first game?

2. Does the store page of GOG claim that there are English subtitles because they would be available for one or the two other episodes?

3. What is the best way to add an Xbox Wireless controller (the last model without name)? I am a Linux user and I do not know well Windows 10. According to Stella's site, JoyToKey seems the right choice. Is that right?

Thank in advance for any piece of information.

It is true that there are no subtitles for this game. Subtitles were extremely rare for non-rpg games before perhaps about the mid noughties.

I don't see a specific claim of subtitles on the store page. It does say English, Deutsch & Français text, but this would be in reference to the language used in menus.

As for JoyToKey, I recall it being a decent way to get controllers working in KB+M-only games, though I don't use it myself so wouldn't be able to give you any useful tips.
Thanks Rublore.

I did not understand that it was about the menus. This explains everything. Thanks.

I will try it just because many people wrote in forums that they preferred a gamepad or controller to the KB+M combo for the Tomb Raider saga, including the first episode. Many claimed that it was easier for exploration and puzzle solving. I tried the game yesterday evening for about half an hour. The mouse was not taken into account in the GOG version. The keyboard alone did feel right to me after configuring the commands as I like them. I will install and configure JoyToKey this evening to at least try it. I am likely to come back to the keyboard after.
