Trying to run Angel of Darkness but the game gives me error messages saying I need to insert the discs.

Running the game just gives me a black screen that says "Unknown file, please insert the correct disk for: DATA\FMV\eidos.mpg"


I can bypass that by checking the VMR9 box in the graphics options. But when I do, after starting a new game, it gives me another black screen and asks me to insert disc 1.

How do I fix this? It seems like the game doesn't know it's a downloadable version and expects me to have the game disks.

In my case, this was because I had too much free space; the game gets some sort of overflow and believes it can't write its cache. I worked around it by using ImDisk to create a 2GB virtual drive and installing the game there.
