I have a good Logitech programmable joystick, and was wondering: does TOCA-3 provide a decent driving experience (or will it work at all) with a joystick? Or MUST I get a driving wheel (I won't even think about keyboard only). I'd love to get this game if I can use a joystick. Thanks for any feedback!
It should but I use an Xbox 360 controler on it.
hey greywood!
If your joystick is USB then it should be able to be configured either in RD3 or Windows Control Panel (gaming) to use in the game with no problems. Unless you have quite a few buttons on it though, you may find a controller is better for ease of use and comfortablity - and u can still use the analog controls on the gamepad (rather than digital).
RD3 is a great game and definately worth buying !

Thanks Zelnak - I'll give it a try. BTW - REALLY nice-looking site you have. I'm sure to visit many times.

Oh good, I just bought TOCA3, and I was hoping it worked with a 360 controller. You answered my question before I even downloaded it. Thanks Tallart!

Nice site!
Thanks guys for the comments on my site. It's coming along slowly-but-surely. I'm still working on the A1GP mod.
Great to see the community still enjoying this great game. With so much choice, and modding options, you can have a championship in any car, in any format, designed just the way you want! What more could a racer want?! :-)
I play it regularly myself with a few mates each week, and can't see us ever moving on!

Answer YES.
I m using a cheap grade Logitech Attack 3.
(only because the old MS Sidewinder 3d pro does not freature USB)
Joystick is set as wheel and with "linearity" set on -2
I have the feeling to be in control in "Pro Sim" mode.
I can almost keep the road with the Lotus 49 F1 car
You can have a very good feeling of immersion of actually driving with a joystick if you take the time to find your settings.
The feeling is as real as it gets in a multi care multi style racing game unlike in for example NFS Shift.
