I have used TOCA 3 (downloaded from here) successfully on two desktop systems running WinXP Pro OEM, SP3. I also installed it (in Administrator account) on our laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium, thinking that everything had gone smoothly. That is, until I ran the game and tried to save progress after a race. Nope, didn't work. Existed Standard User account, re-entered Admin account, tried to create new profile; nope, same thing. Aaaaugh! Can't save progress = no point in playing!
Unfortunately, this bug also affects my install of Colin McRae Rally 2005. I checked with Codemasters on this problem. To their credit, they replied within a few hours, but they only said that Vista was not officially supported for either of these two games. Their advice was to check that hardware drivers were working properly under Vista and that I should try Compatibility Mode.
Anybody successfully built a career in either game under Vista?
