Hey, I'm having severe problems getting Toca Race Driver 3 to work on my system. My specs are as follows:
- E6300 Core 2 Duo
- GeForce 7900GS Graphics card
- 2GB RAM
- Vista Home Premium SP1
I've ran the hardware setup program and decided on a resolution of 1024*768 as a hopefully not-too-taxing starting point. Unfortunately game runs *extremely* (read "unplayably") slowly, with frame rates of around 0.5fps.
Are there any known issues with the game that could cause this? I'm curious as the only other game I've experienced this with was Doom III, yet other newer games work fine.
Cheers

Im not completely sure what the problem could be.
Have you tried the obvious ones first, like installing latest drivers for graphics card etc?
Have you tried setting graphics settings to low ( disabling shadows etc ) to see if any options there may cause it?
Also, I know that some older games sometimes have had issues with dual\quad core cpu and the affinity on it ( although that was mainly that either games crashed or sometimes ran too fast ).
However, I did find a post on the codemaster forum that mentioned a few things regarding some issues that could slow the game down. Instead of quoting an awfully lot of text I am just goin to link you to it.

Hopefully one of those suggestions will be a solution for your problem.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
I'm glad to say the problem is now resolved, although I don't know why, or what I did to resolve it.
I had changed the graphics settings to low, and started the game and still had the same problems, *however* when I set the graphics to low and then re-started my PC, it ran like a dream.
I've settled on a moderately good graphics setting and the game now runs excellently: if I were to hazard a guess as to what went wrong, it would be that there's maybe a slight issue with the hardware setup program being incompatible with Vista or some other piece of software I have and that the computer has to be restarted for any changes to take effect.
If anybody else reports this, I'm happy to contribute everything I know, but if the mods feel the matter is closed, then feel free to delete the thread.
Cheers
