Hey folks! I've been playing a lot of TOCA 3 before I start work (at 1pm) and after I finish (at 7pm). I gotta say this is the racing game I've been waiting for, and it's been out for years! How did I miss this? Oh well, thanks for bringing it to my attention GoG.
For me the huge draw of this game is the fact that there is pretty much every race discipline in the game. What is everyones favorite discipline, and why?
I personally love the open wheel racers. The older/harder to drive the better. I know this is sort of skirting the "classic" discipline, but the 1930s race is the best. Nothing is better than doing 5-10 laps in one of those bad boys. The sound of the engine, the constant oversteer, and the insane acceleration all add up to such a great time. All of the open wheel cars are amazing to play around with. Something special about cars that don't pamper you at all.
Just as an aside, I know TOCA 3 is not the most (or even too much of a) realistic racer. I mean it uses the center-mass model so your car is driving on one point instead of the four tires, but I have so much fun with this game. It hits the sweet spot between NFS and Forza2/GT5 in my opinion.
