I am having a really hard time setting up my wheel to work in this game. I've got an old Act Labs Force RS as my primary controller and the RS Shifter/Act Labs Performance Pedals as my second controller.
First, I'm having trouble assigning controller inputs. Apparently, TOCA is seeing my clutch (controller #2 Z-axis) moving constantly. When I hit <Enter> to assign a control, it tries to go to <- Z-Axis. I have to time it just right to get it to recognize something else. However, I am able to get everything set.
When I launch the game though, something goes wrong. I haven't been able to figure it out completely, but here's what I've found. From a stop, if I step on the accelerator, the engine will rev normally, but the car won't go anywhere. I've got the transmission setting to automatic. I tried manual too, but that didn't change the behavior. When I step on the brake, the brake lights come on only in the very middle of pedal travel. After that, the engine revs. When the brake pedals hits the limit of control, the car downshifts. This seems pretty bizarre to me.
Also, when I switch to in-car view (which is my preference), it acts like I am holding down the "look right" button. If I hold down the "look left" button, the view centers. If I hold down the "look right" button, nothing happens.
Is there a .ini file I can modify manually to specify my controller settings? I'm thinking that may help me get around this.
